Any couple with children intending or contemplating divorce needs to consider the paramount considerations for the child’s welfare and future. If the parents need help, they should first consider engaging a professional with the expertise to work to mediate and facilitate agreement of terms that focus on the child’s interest, welfare, future and wellbeing.
The panel of experts that could assist are mediators, child psychiatrist / psychologist, child counsellors, social workers.

Upon agreeing and working through the above considerations, couples can proceed to the Courts for an amicable divorce to end their marriage. This would also prevent undue impact to the child as a consequence of parents going through and enduring lengthy court battles that will also result in expenditure of significant legal costs and consume unnecessarily the court’s time and resources.
